Since 2015, the Oranjezicht City Farm Market (OCFM) has been operating from Granger Bay within the V&A Waterfront precinct. The market supports more than forty local farmers and attracts close to half a million visitors each year.
As part of the ongoing development of the Granger Bay District of the Waterfront, award-winning architects StudioMAS have designed a new retail space for the OCFM. The new cross-laminated timber and Glulam structural frame recalls the large volumes and pitched roofs of the historic maritime buildings in the area, but reimagined in sustainable wood and translucent roofing.
The market is currently under construction by Evermine and is scheduled for completion by mid-2025. Images by Evermine.
