As part of the ongoing research partnership with the York Timber Research Chair at the University of Pretoria, the RAW Nano is an experimental project exploring material and spatial efficiency.
Designed and partially fabricated by Peet van Straaten and the team at RAW Modular, the Nano straddles the line between product and architectural design, demonstrating modular design thinking and how bold architecture can be achieved while still minimising waste. Using just three plates of CLT, 16 m3 of super-efficient living space is created. Each Nano Pod accommodates a double bed, fold-down desk, storage and integrated power and lighting.
