In 2021 BOXA Possibilities, Mass Timber Technologies and Sustainabuild Projects completed a multi-use space and ablution building for Skateistan an award-winning international NGO in the Johannesburg CBD that combines skateboarding with creative, arts-based education.

CLT panels and GLT beams were used as part of the construction to provide a high-quality teaching and learning space for young children and teens.

In addition to the speed of construction, the biophilic properties of the wood enhances the learning environment, and the building technology is designed for disassembly meaning the NGO can move the building should they lose access to the land for any reason.
